My name is Mary Kristin Green.
I graduated from Lipscomb University with a master's in school counseling in May 2021. This is my second year as a school counselor. I also have a teaching license and a background in Early Childhood Education.
I am working on creating a comprehensive school counseling program for the students in grades kindergarten to fifth grade.
Why school counseling?I have always known I wanted to work in an elementary school. I love learning about childhood development and social-emotional growth, so school counseling seemed like a perfect fit! I enjoy getting to work with teachers and parents to better support their students as they grow.
When deciding on a career, it was important to find a field that also would allow me to grow alongside my students. I believe this is the perfect position for me because I believe in being a life-long learner, and my students teach me something every single day! I am currently continuing my education through Lipscomb University, and I am excited to get to put some of my new learning to use. |

Alone we are smart. Together we are brilliant
School counselors offer a unique perspective to the school environment. We are supporters of students, teachers, parents and administrators. We serve in many unique roles within schools with the goal of helping every student reach their potential. We serve as advocators, mentors, academic advisors and confidants to students. We work collaboratively with resources both inside and outside of the school to better serve our students.
My counseling philosophy
All students deserve at least one cheerleader who is dedicated to helping them grow, learn, and thrive in this ever changing world. I am here to be that cheerleader to every student who enters the building.
